Argylle flops with critics, fans, and box office… It was bad, y’all. Very bad. Which is just disappointing because there was a lot of talent involved, it had a good premise, and it cost a shit load of money. ($200M allegedly). Also, it was an original film and we need more of those not less. But if Hollywood takes the moral of this story as “large scale original films don’t work in theaters,” I wouldn’t be surprised or even think it all that unreasonable. The movie was that bad. And no, J.K. Rowling had nothing to do with it. 🐈
Taylor Swift has become the first artist ever to win Album of the Year 4 times… The Grammys were last night. The show was fine, and as expected it was all about Ms. Swift, who also announced her next album. Meanwhile, Trevor Noah did a great job as host — as per usual. And Paramore became the first woman-fronted band to ever win Best Rock Album. 🏆
Brad Pitt in talks to star in Quentin Tarantino’s The Movie Critic… Which I refused to call his last film, because I just don’t buy it. It was wrongly rumored that Paul Walter Hauser was going to star in the movie, but I guess Brad will have to do. 📝
True Detective episode 5 will drop on Friday ahead of the Super Bowl… I love when HBO does this. Also, this is the penultimate episode of the season. I had no idea it was only 6 installments! 👏
