Austin Powers 4 rumored to be in the works… The other day I heard Austin Powers mentioned on a podcast and thought to myself, “I’m surprised they haven’t tried to bring back Austin Powers, it was so popular.” Then just a few days later, boom, here’s this rumor from World of Reel. It makes sense as Mike Meyers hasn’t had many hits recently (not for lack of trying on Netflix though) and nostalgia and legacy sequels are the flavor of the day. Let’s keep an eye on whether this rumor becomes official — but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see movement on this soon. 🤓
Margot Robbie, Olivia Wilde, Tony McNamara in talks to make Avengelyne comic book movie… Robbie is going to star, Wilde direct, and McNamara write the screenplay. I’m not familiar at all with this character, but that’s a power team if ever I’ve seen one. 💥
The Marvels was the biggest bomb of 2023, losing $237 million… It’s joined on the list by The Flash, Indy 5, Wish, and Haunted Mansion. Disney did not have a great year at the box office. 💣
Nick Jonas and Paul Rudd to star in John Carney’s next musical movie Power Ballad… Carney’s last musical Flora and Son was one of my favorite movies from last year, so I’m glad he’s already at work on another one! 🎶

Aubrey Plaza to produce series adaptation of Emily the Criminal… This was a good movie and should make for a good TV show. 📺
