First reviews of Ahsoka are in… The reactions are mostly positive but a bit muted. It seems critics saw 2 episodes and are perhaps erring on the side of caution in case the rest of the season goes south — as it did with Obi-Wan, which garnered strong early praise, but then fizzled out. Die-hard Star Wars fans are definitely going to tune in, but I’m skeptical this catches a broader audience, and after Secret Invasion, that’s not what Disney wants to see from another of its tentpole franchises. The really good news is that Disney+ is going to release new episodes on Tuesday nights! Specifically 9 PM ET/6 PM PT, which is much better than the Wednesday midnight releases. Maybe the other streamers are catching on to HBO/Max’s strategy of dropping new episodes in prime time? ✨
