• James Gunn writing new Superman script; Cavill done, but could stay in DCU… Alas, Henry Cavill’s time as Superman is finished. James Gunn is writing a new Superman movie and will age down the character. Gunn is reportedly focusing on Clark’s young adult years at The Daily Planet, when he first met Lois Lane and friends. Gunn is smart, so hopefully this isn’t another retelling of the origin story. Spider-Man Homecoming would be the exact right approach. For what it’s worth, J.J. Abrams and Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Superman movie is also still in development. Cavill is still being kept in mind for a future, different DC role. That aligns with reports that Jason Momoa would be kept on board as well, albeit not as Aquaman. It would be really cool if they give Gal Gadot a new role too. And Ben Affleck could be back to direct a DC pic. Win-win for everyone — except Snyder die hards. 🌎
