• Game of Thrones sequel series, starring Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow, in development at HBO… Harrington famously checked into rehab for stress and alcohol after Game of Thrones ended, so it’s more than a little bit surprising that he’d return for a sequel series. Especially when said new show—a direct follow up to a once-beloved series with a controversial ending—will no doubt be under the biggest microscope. Either Harrington has balls of steel or HBO lined up a big paycheck. Might be both! On a conceptual level, I’m intrigued by the idea of this and think it could be a worthwhile endeavor — especially if Snow is paired with all new characters. It’s also intriguing that HBO is considering a Star Wars/Marvel strategy with GoT, in which it would spin off known characters for standalone stories. There’s no reason for it not to. ⚔️
