What to know
The first reactions to Coppola’s Megalopolis are all over the place… Some are calling it huge mess others a masterpiece. Likewise it got boos and a lengthy standing ovation after its Cannes premiere. It seems the one thing everyone can agree on about the movie is that no one will agree on the movie. Which I think is a great place for a work of art to be. Interestingly, IMAX has committed to showing the movie even though it doesn’t have U.S. distributor yet. Coppola financed the movie himself for $120M. 😮
Universal gives us a 3-minute Wicked trailer… Looks like Wicked. I’m dismayed by how flat the colors look. Believe it or not, the trailer looked worse in theaters than it did at home. Also, Universal is still not letting on that this is the first of a two-part film and I think non Wicked fans are going to be surprised when this ends on a cliffhanger. 🧹
