And 'The Marvels' breaks another unfortunate record

Will The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes get a sequel?… The Hunger Games prequel made nearly $100M worldwide in its opening weekend, which Variety is calling a moderate success. The trade doesn’t think this is a big enough success to warrant more films, but Lionsgate seems more bullish, touting how this film opens up the world for more. I wouldn’t mind more stories in this universe, but would probably want Suzanne Collins to write them first. 🐍
The Marvels sees record nearly 80% drop… Oof. Things just went bad to worse for Marvel as its latest just saw the worst 2nd week drop of any superhero movie ever. It might not even make $100M total domestic. If you had told me even 2 months ago that a Marvel movie would fail to make $100M TOTAL in the U.S. I would have laughed you out of the room. 😱
New Bourne movie in the works… From All Quiet on the Western Front director Edward Berger. So you know it’s going to be brutal.
