What to know
One of Netflix’s first original series is leaving the platform… When we think about the first-ever Netflix originals, we tend to remember House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black, but horror-fantasy show Hemlock Grove was also there, debuting between the Cards and Orange back in 2013. And now, for unbeknownst reasons, Netflix is removing the show from its platform on October 22. Hemlock Grove was made by Gaumont International Television, so it’s possible the streaming rights have reverted. Or this is a play by Netflix to save some money, a la HBO Max and its disappearing originals. Is the era of endless content libraries ending? This is definitely a story worth following. 🍿
