• Marvel pauses Thunderbolts due to writers strike, but Deadpool 3 is filming minus Ryan Reynolds’ ad libs… If you were wondering a month ago how the strike might affect the future of Marvel, well, here it is. It’s unclear why Deadpool 3 is shooting, but Thunderbolts, Blade, and the Wonder Man series have been paused. My only guess is that the latter 3 are not done being written — or would require more rewrites on set than Deadpool 3. Which is surprising because Ryan Reynolds improvises a lot as Deadpool, and even though the threequel is reportedly shooting, because Reynolds is a credited writer on the movie, he allegedly won’t be allowed to ad lib this time around. AV Club wonders what a Deadpool movie will sound like without Reynolds’ improvs and yeah, it’s a genuine concern. If the movie ends up being bad, we can always blame the writers strike! 🎬
