• Squid Game to compete as drama not limited series at 2022 award shows… Why would Netflix do this? As good as it is, there’s no way Squid Game can beat Succession for Best Drama at the Emmys or elsewhere. My guess is that Netflix is already working on a second season (therefor disqualifying it for limited series) OR Netflix has a really good limited series coming soon and doesn’t want to compete with itself. So look for Squid Game to win a bunch of technical awards — and then lose to Succession next September. 🍿
