Directed by Greta Gerwig, written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Ncuti Gatwa, Michael Cera, Alexandra Shipp, Hari Nef, Emerald Fennell, and Emma Mackey.

Now that’s how you do a teaser trailer. The extended 2001 parody is pitch perfect, absolutely hilarious (I laughed out loud), and sets up the sophisticated, satiric tone beautifully. The shot looking up at Robbie’s Barbie is masterfully done, exactly replicating the shape and proportions of the doll. The look on the face of the little girl with glasses is priceless. The transition to more scenes from the movie is surprising and exciting. Those brief glimpses are then full of color and movement and charm. Warner Bros. knows what it has here and produced a trailer that is easily one of the best of the year. Well done. Movies looks amazing. 10 out of 10, no notes.
