What to know
The Flash might lose nearly $200 million… Up until yesterday it was reported that the DC flop’s budget was $220M, but now according to THR, we’re learning that The Flash actually cost $300M. Add in the $150M marketing costs, and you get a total expense of $450M. Sadly the movie has only made $268 million at the global box office, meaning it might have lost $182M. This would put it in the top 10-15 of the biggest box office failures of all time when adjusting for inflation. Warner Bros. will try to close the gap with VOD, home video, and licensing, but that’s a mighty steep hole to climb out of. ⚡️
