  • Don’t expect to ever see Jamie Foxx’s All-Star Weekend… In 2016, Jamie Foxx directed himself, Jeremy Piven, Robert Downey Jr., Benicio del Toro, Gerard Butler, and Eva Longoria in a comedy about two friends who road trip to the NBA’s yearly event. Sounds like a slam dunk — and yet the movie has sat on a shelf for six years. Why? Because Downey plays a Mexican character in the film. Uh yeah, that’ll do it. Comedy tastes have changed a lot in recent years, and what got by in 2008 (Tropic Thunder), is not going to sit well in 2022. It sounds like Foxx wants to release the movie and is waiting for people to be less sensitive, but that seems unlikely. 🏀
