• The Duffer Brothers announce Stranger Things spin off, stage play (!), The Talisman, and Death Note adaptations… Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer have signed a massive new nine-figure deal at Netflix and unveiled some of the things they’re working on. A spinoff to their flagship show and live-action series based on Stephen King’s The Talisman and anime Death Note are among the projects — but what really interests me is a planned Stranger Things universe stage play to be helmed by Stephen Daldry (The Crown, Billy Elliot, The Reader). If the Duffers and Daldry are smart they’ll hire the people who did the stage craft and special effects for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child ASAP. More big IP should be made into stage plays! 🙃
