• Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, plus hundreds of other top SAG actors say they’re ready to strike… Are the members of SAG happy with how negotiations are going? The union’s leadership (led by President Fran Drescher, yes, the Nanny) says negotiations are going well, but this letter from top members says “SAG-AFTRA members may be ready to make sacrifices that leadership is not” and that “this is not a moment to meet in the middle.” Could we see a situation where Drescher gets a deal but the union rejects it via popular vote? As a reminder, an actors strike means total Hollywood shutdown. The actors’ contract is up on Friday so the next two days could be wild. 🪧
