  • Stranger Things tops list of most streamed shows of 2022… Star Wars and Marvel didn’t even crack the top 15. As much as Disney tries to movie-fy the streaming landscape, TV is still TV — and Netflix knows that. After Stranger Things, the top streamed shows are NCIS (via Netflix) followed by Cocomelon (also Netflix) and Ozark (Netflix again, noticing a pattern here?). So, it’s procedural reruns, kids’ content, and middle-of-the-road serial dramas — a.k.a. TV. Disney+ finally enters the field at no. 5 with Encanto (thanks TikTok!). The only other Disney+ shows in the top 15 are Bluey and The Simpsons. TV! What’s the lesson here? Library content of recognizable titles, that appeal to all demos, is still king and perhaps keeps people subscribed. 📺
