• Warner Discovery plans DC overhaul… What will David Zaslav’s first order of business be now that he’s at the head of Warner and Discovery? Fixing DC or at least optimizing it. The newly merged company wants to install a Kevin Feige-esque DC czar, revive Superman, and greenlight more niche creative bets like Joker — as well as find more creative cohesion across the brand. Makes sense to make but we’ve been down this road before with DC. I think the fractured brand style is working for them right now and serves as a juxtaposition to Feige’s Marvel. More homogenization of big budget entertainment isn’t necessarily a good thing. Should be interesting to see how the DC problem shakes out. 🦸‍♀️
