What to know
Disney+ and Marvel go with a binge release for Echo this November, Loki weekly starting Oct 6… I’m perplexed by this. The blockbuster Marvel and Star Wars shows have definitely benefited from word of mouth building each week. Weekly releases also keep people subscribed for longer. Does dropping all the episodes at once signal that Disney considers Echo to be lower tier? In switching so abruptly, it seems like they’re effectively dumping this new series. Why is Echo getting release all at once, while Loki and Secret Invasion are week-to-week. We’ll have to see how much of a marketing push Echo gets. Even more confusing, Echo will drop Nov. 29, the Wednesday after Thanksgiving. I could understand trying to capture families and viewers at home for the long weekend with a binge release, but the Wednesday after makes no sense. I’m sure I’m over analyzing this, but that’s what we do here. 🤔
