A new ‘adult’ Flintstones animated series is in the works at Fox | TVLine
Do young people even know The Flintstones? Fox is developing a sequel series called Bedrock that would star Elizabeth Banks as a now-adult Pebbles. She’s ready to head out into the burgeoning Bronze Age, away from her retirement-aged father Fred. It’s a somewhat clever update that reflects modern generational divides — but will millennials and gen Zers even bother with this? Maybe nostalgic boomers will care, but they’re not in the demo TV advertisers want. Yabba dabba who is this for?
Marvel taps Chinaka Hodge to be Ironheart series head writer | Variety
You gotta love Marvel’s commitment to diversity in front of and behind the camera. It leads to much more authentic representations — just look at Black Panther and The Falcon er… Captain America and the Winter Soldier. It’s nice to know a white man isn’t writing Rii Williams’ story, you know what I mean? Hodge is a screenwriter, poet, playwright, and educator who has written on Amazing Stories and Snowpiercer.
Former Pres. Trump has Oscars takes | Twitter
Donald Trump, recently seen trying to overturn American democracy, thinks the Oscars should go back to being called The Academy Awards (they still are) and should turn the clock back 15 years, when they weren’t so woke. For the record, the Academy honored Crash, Capote, Brokeback Mountain, and Three 6 Mafia in 2006. Additionally, Trump mocked the Oscars’ low ratings, which were partly due to the pandemic, which he enabled. Big angry grandpa vibes.
Citizen Kane lost its perfect RottenTomatoes score, making Paddington 2 the new greatest movie of all time | Uproxx
RottenTomatoes’ work is never finished. The review aggregator apparently found the one negative review of Citizen Kane from 80 years ago and therefore demoted what many believe is the GOAT from a perfect 100 to a just-fine 99. Tough break. Uproxx cheekily points out that Paddington 2 remains in the 100% Club, but I want to highlight fellow hundo-percenter Tampopo. If you know, you know.

What to watch
TV Trailer: Master of None presents Moments in Love — May 23 on Netflix
Aziz Ansari, Alan Yang, and Lena Waithe are mixing up the formula of Master of None with season 3 by centering it all on Lena Waithe’s Denise and her wife Alicia. This brief but promising trailer foretells a more introspective, perhaps dramatic tone than previous seasons and pairs that vibe with some beautiful lo-fi cinematography. The Denise-centric Thanksgiving episode from season 2 was maybe the show’s pinnacle, so all in all, this is exciting.
