'Shang-Chi' early buzz is in
What to know
Shang-Chi early buzz is in and people love the action… It sounds like Marvel outdid itself with the fight scenes in Shang-Chi, which is both to be expected and a great relief. Twitter pundits are also saying it’s unlike any Marvel movie that’s come before, which is exciting. Now, the question is whether people will go see it in theaters 💍
Get your first look at Dominic West and Elibzaeth Debicki as Charles and Diana in The Crown season 5… Debicki looks a lot like Diana, while Dominic West looks a lot like… Dominic West. But I’m sure he’ll be good in the role — cause he won’t be having to do an American accent 😂
Emma Stone has closed a deal for Cruella 2… I guess she won’t be suing Disney after all. I wonder how the ScarJo scandal and the rumors that Stone was “considering her options” played into her dealmaking with Disney. I hope she secured that bag 🐾
Sterling K. Brown and Randall Park to star in action comedy film on Amazon… Sign me the eff up! I’m getting giddy just thinking about the kinds of misadventures these two are going to have together 👏
All your favorite shows-within-shows are now on Nestflix… yo dawg, we heard you like shows, so we put some shows in your shows 📺
Scarlett Johansson joins Wes Anderson’s next pic… the man knows how to attract big time talent 🎥
A daytime drive-in theater is coming to Tennessee… that’s one big LED screen 🚗
The South Park guys are saving the real Casa Bonita… they certainly have the funds 🌮

TV Trailer: Dear White People season 4 — Sept 22 on Netflix
Just in time for back-to-school, Netflix’s under-appreciated college comedy is returning for a final, musical (surprise!) season. Dear White People has lived may different lives over the course of its previous 3 years. It started out as a razor-sharp satire about being Black at a prestigious private university, it dipped into noir-esque mystery, and then came out the other side as a hangout dramedy covering friendship and discovering one’s self. Now, it’s a musical! Why not! Thankfully, the talented and charismatic cast have remained game throughout, elevating the show across all of its incarnations. Series lead Logan Browning is especially winning and watchable. Dear White People once had a lot to say about being Black in America and the issues of race on college campuses. Some of that edge dissipated over the course of its run, but I’m glad Netflix is giving this show a chance to end on its terms.
